This guide is to help members set up their WowStead account in the most effective way. 

A WowStead account must be created in order to use this guild site. You cannot apply to the guild without it. You cannot post without it. You cannot submit a ticket without it.  You cannot verify a character without it. So let's start out with how to make your account.

At the top right corner of any guild site, by default, is a "Register" link.  You will need to click this.

This will bring you to a page with a ton of information you will need to fill in.  Each part of this information is very important to fill in, and is required to be filled in to open your WowStead account.

I will break these down into sections.

• User Details:
  • Desired username - this does not have to be your characters name and should not be your WoW Accounts Login. 
  • Password - this should not be your WoW Account Password.  Your password should follow the guidelines posted here [LINK]
  • Verify password - Just retype your password from above.
  • Email address - Make sure this is a legitimate address.  If you loose your password this is the email it is sent to.  WowStead does not sell addresses to other companies and rarely sends out email to members at all.  So you are only hurting yourself by putting a fake one in.

• Additional Information:
  • Date of Birth - This needs to be your real birth date.  This is also connected to retrieval of your password.  If you put a fake one in you may not get your password back.  This does not show anywhere at this time.
  • Country - the country in which you live.
  • Timezone - the time zone you live in.  If you can't find your city then find a city that is in the same timezone as you.  This is so that events on the site match with your local time.  
  • WowStead Mailing List- you can opt out of receiving mail from the staff at WowStead.  This would mainly be Important Notices.

• Verification:
  • You will need to agree to the ToU and ToS of WowStead in order to use the site.  You will be held to these.  So I would suggest reading through them.
  • Six characters to prove you aren't a robot.  Just retype what you see the box to the right into the text box.  Your six characters will be different then what is shown in the image.

Next you will need to add your first character to your account.  This is manditory to be able to verify on your guild site or to post.  The character needs to be an active character.  Just type in your Main character's name as it is in game.  Then select what realm it is on from the drop down menu.  Then click on  "Create Character" .   You may now "verify" your character with your guild site or continue to add the rest of your characters.

To add additional characters go to any guild site and login.  This does not have to be your guild site.  Then in the upper right corner is the link "Character Management" around the same area the "Register" link was.  You will need to click on it.  This will take you to a page with a tab box. By default it should be on "Details".  This is the tab you want.  You will have three sections; Character, Statstics and Management.  You want the Management tab.  the first link under that section is "Add another character".  Click on it and you will repeat the same process as you did with your first one.  Enter your characters name as it is in the game and which realm it is on.  Rise and repeat for all the characters you want to add to your account. 

You do not need to add more than your main character but reasons you may:
1. Posting - You can post under any character that is on your account.
2. Rank restrictions - characters have the ranks as they do in game.  One character's may be different then the others.
3. multiple guild's use WowStead - at this time characters can only be verified to one guild at a time. 
4. Events - better to sign up for guild events on the character you plan to take.
5. Character profile -  There's more information on your character's profile if you are registered.
