  • Raid Leader Guide  |  Friday, July 3, 2009 - 12:59 PM

In addition to those rules set out in the Raid Guide the following expectations apply to Raid Leaders (RLs).

NOTE: This is a work in progress

Starting Invites
RLs must say invites starting in guild chat at the scheduled raid start time (22:45) or the reason why invites haven’t started (e.g. missing a few players) - before actually inviting any players to a raid select all those which signed up and are online in EPGP (using shift click) and award the signup bonus.. RLs must ensure that signed-up Raider members take precedence over signed-up Social members when there is an excess of sign-ups. When the raid is full RLs should start the timed EP award and put raid full for now, standby available in guild chat to encourage those that are available to get on standby and earn EP.

Tracking Attendance & Drops
RLs must install and correctly use the HeadCount add-on to track raid attendance and loot drops (not forgetting to click the end active raid button when moving between two instances). Immediately after the raid has finished the result should be exported in game using XML and uploaded to the guild website using the Raid History link.

Tracking Raid Performance
RLs must enable combat and chat logging while inside instances (the LoggerHead add-on is very good at managing this for you). Additionally RLs should track performance of the raid in game using the Recount add-on so issues regarding dps and healing performance may be analysed and addressed. Immediately after the raid has finished the relevant parts of the combat log should be uploaded to World of Logs using the client application.

Tracking Raid Buffs
RLs should check all available raid buffs have been relevantly applied before starting an encounter (the Big Brother add-on is very good at this).

Continuing Past Scheduled Raid Time
RLs must perform a ready check to confirm that enough players wish to continue if the raid will continue past the scheduled end time (02:00).

Post Raid Tasks
Once the raid has completed the RL must complete the following tasks as soon as possible;
- Upload the HeadCount XML Export to Raid History
- Upload the EPGP data to EPGP Web
- Upload the combat log to World of Logs (its a good idea to use the archive function that is offered after uploading using this client to keep things simple, but it does mean you need to be logged out of WoW)

More Work In Progress

- Selecting the relevant raid
- Checking Add-on’s & Versions (ora, dbm, epgplm)
- Managing EPGP (awards and penalties; signup, per 30 min, boss kill, - for anything if requried, staying until the end)
- Encouraging those who did sign-up or are available to raid late to get on the standby list
