These guidelines govern conduct and set general expectations for all members of the guild, regardless of rank.
About The Good Member Guide
As a Member of the guild you agree to follow all guidelines set out in this Good Member Guide and to be aware of all the latest guidelines by reviewing them regularly on the guild website. It is also your duty to inform a Class Leader or Officer when guidelines have not been followed so offenders may be dealt with appropriately. Members understand that these guidelines are to ensure fair treatment for everyone in all Guild related activities.
General Conduct
Members have a responsibility to act as good ambassadors for the guild and behave as such. This includes, but is not limited to; following all Blizzards rules regarding the game (specifically around selling toons and using gold sellers), only speaking English in chat channels, never using inappropriate language (regardless of the reason or the medium), being respectful to all players at all times (members or otherwise) and not bad mouthing the Guild or in any way harming its reputation. When issues arise members are expected to communicate constructively with each other without detriment to effectively resolve the situation.
Guild Leadership
Members agree to respect Guild Leader, Officer, Class Leader and Raid Leader decisions even though at times you may not agree with them. Members are encouraged to challenge any rule or decision which doesn’t appear to be fair via the internal General forum, so they may be reviewed and updated if a more suitable alternative can be found (as long as the discussion is impartial, non-personal and focused with an example).
Raid Attendance
Members must attend a minimum of 3 raids per week in normal circumstances, when Members cannot attend this number of raids for whatever reason (work, holiday etc.) they are required to post in the Members AFK forum stating the reason for their absence.
Guild Website
Members are expected to regularly visit and review all the information provided on the Guild website, to sign up for raids, participate in discussion forums and assist with the new Member recruitment process. When creating or responding to posts on the forum Members must use English only and spend time clearly formatting their text to make it simple to read for everyone (using white space to separate long posts, using sentence case only and not using an excessive amount of unnecessary punctuation).
Joining The Guild
All Members are expected to assist in identifying potential new Members and referring them to the Guild web site and/or relevant Class Leader (advertising of any sort, in game or otherwise, must be first approved by an Officer). Players wishing to join the Guild must complete the application form on the Guild website so all Members have a chance to review and comment on the application, if they so desire. Prospective Members must review the Good Member Guide prior to posting their application to ensure Guild expectations meet their own requirements as a player. If your application is accepted you will be invited to the guild on a Trial basis which will last 1-3 weeks, at which time your conduct and raid performance will be evaluated - note that not all those offered a Trial are offered a permanent position.
Leaving The Guild
We understand from time to time people want to move on to a new guild and that's fine, don't be a stranger! However we ask you to be considerate in this situation. Let an officer know you are intending to leave then pass on raid spots and or/loot where appropriate, continuing to think of the guilds progression first. This common courtesy will also ensure that if you decide that Twilight is the right place for you, you have the best chance of being invited back.
If we discover that you have applied to another guild and haven't discussed this move first with an officer (so it can be considered in raid spot and loot distribution decisions) we'll reset your EP to zero to ensure contested drops stay within the guild and it will certainly effect decisions regarding raid invites.
We also reserve the right to remove a member if the application they make to another guild harms the reputation of Twilight, its leaders or members in any way.
If you are lucky enough to be re-invited to the Guild after leaving you may be asked to re-apply, your EPGP will be reset and you will need to re-complete the Trial period, being subject to the limitations imposed by this rank.
Main Spec, Off Spec & Dual Spec
When joining the Guild all Members will clearly identify which is their main spec, as this will be a primary consideration for extending an invite to a player. All classes are expected to select an off-spec and discuss this decision with their CL (thoroughbreds should consider utility specs). Posessing and purchasing the dual spec talent can be very useful to raid composition and all members should consider this. A Member may not switch their main or off spec to any other spec without first approving the change with their Class Leader, to ensure a suitable balance is kept within the class. Members must be prepared and ready to modify their main or off spec. at a Class Leaders request as the Guild and raid composition may require.
Game Instances
Members agree to not get saved in any instance which is defined as Guild Only according to the current Raid Status.
Alts
Members may have as many alts within the guild as they desire, however this is a raiding guild and it is expected that you do everything you can pre-raid (e.g. rep grinding for the best enchants) before spending time with your alts. Alts belonging to Trial members will remain at Trial rank until their Trial period has passed and they are promoted to Social or Raider. A Member may not switch their main to an alt without first gaining approval of the change with an Officer (which will only occur if the guild requires the alt’s class and has failed to recruit that class quickly).
Professions
Members are expected to select and maintain two primary professions to assist their raid performance, additionally members should skill up all secondary professions to assist with raid preparation. Members are expected to provide crafting services free of charge to other members. When rare crafted recipes drop in raids Officers and Class Leaders will have first refusal of these items to ensure their availability to all members. From time to time where the guild requires Officers may ask a member to select an alternate profession (in this exceptional circumstance members will be assisted with the cost of re-skilling by the GB).
Recruitment Test
This paragraph exists to check that applicants are reading the member guide, if you are applying to the guild and got this far good job! Make sure you enter 'Yes, I also got the t-shirt' in the question which asks whether you read the member guide (q. 15).
