These guidelines set general expectations in regards to all guild raids.
Scheduling
Officers will organise raids using the Raiding Schedule for at least 4 days a week from Monday through to Thursday between the hours of 23:00 and 02:00 server time (normal invite/start time is 22:45 and 23:00 respectively) - raids will not normally be scheduled on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Any member may schedule a raid as long as it doesn’t clash with the regular raid times described here.
Sign-up
All Members wishing to attend a raid must sign-up at the earliest opportunity on the Guild website to be considered for an invite, signing 15 minutes or less before raid start while better than not at all doesn't allow the guild to plan properly. It’s understood that Members have real lives and if you can’t make it on time, but are planning on joining, then attach a short comment to your registration detailing the time you expect to arrive. Members who do not sign for Raids may in some circumstances get an invite if the raid requires them but this behaviour will be taken into consideration by the loot council in any decision it is required to make.
Outside Game Preparation (Add-ons Etc.)
Members must have the Vent Client installed and configured to use our Vent Server prior to the raid starting, Members should sign into Vent using their main’s toon name or it’s abbreviation. Members must ensure that the following raid required add-ons are installed, up to date and working correctly; ORA2 Raid Assistant, Omen Threat Meter, DBM Boss Encounters and EPGP Loot Master. It is also recommended that Members use a raid frames add-on (such as X-Perl) to obtain a view of the entire raid status during an encounter (talk to your CL about alternatives which may be better for your class). Members must NOT be running any of the add-on's that are on the Naughty Addon List, having demonstrated that they continually spam the addon channel, including; Gear Score, Quest Helper, Carbonite and others.
In Game Preparation
Before raiding Members agree to be fully prepared for the event, including but not limited to; all equipped gear being PvE orientated with appropriate enchants and gems, enough flasks for the duration of the raid, enough pots for every boss attempt (wipe or otherwise), all gear fully repaired, enough gold to deal with repairs throughout the raid and sufficient personal food buffs. Members with relevant professions should also assist the group by bringing sufficient feasts, repair bots and additional pots (e.g. hit) so the raid doesn’t have to stop if an item is required.
Invites
Prior to the scheduled raid start time all Members wishing to raid will log to their mains, leave their groups and ensure that their PvP status has expired. The Raid Leader will announce in guild chat that invites are starting and which instance the guild is heading to (e.g. “Invites Starting – Head to Naxx"), at this time all members intending to raid should begin heading to the instance entrance. If invites will not start at the proposed start time the Raid Leader (Officer or High Counselor in their absence) will announce in guild chat the reason why the invites haven’t started (e.g. “Missing a healer at the moment, considering options"). If enough Members aren’t online at raid start and a suitable raid can’t be substituted then the Raid Leader will wait 45 minutes before calling the event. During this time Members should avoid making groups or joining battlegrounds and instead use the time to further prepare for raids so the Guild can move quickly to Raid as soon as possible.
Progression
Members accept that progression fights may require a certain raid makeup and the importance of getting new content on to farm status so all members may experience it. Members accept that some members are better geared and better suited to certain fights and will be courteous to the RL if they are requested to step aside for a substitution before or during an encounter. Members accept that it is their own responsibility to learn as much as possible about progression fights before they attempt them. The RL responsibility lies in identifying who will perform the required roles during an encounter and not teaching those Members who haven’t completed sufficient research before the raid starts.
Main Spec, Off Spec & Alts
To ensure correct raid makeup the RL may request that a member use their off-spec and in exceptional circumstances an alt. to satisfy requirements. However, this will only ever occur if the raid specifically requires it as we aren't in the business of gearing alts. Members should not whisper the Raid Leader or assistants requesting to bring an alt as this will simply be ignored, the RL will contact individuals directly if anything other than their main spec is required.
Conduct
During the raid Members will be completely focused upon moving through the encounters quickly. This includes, but is not limited to; avoiding chatting in guild, raid, officer and general channels when an encounter or loot allocation is in progress, not encouraging players outside the guild to whisper the RL if they think a spot is free unless specifically asked to, not looting any boss unless they are the loot master, listening carefully on vent so the RL does not have to repeat themselves, always whispering the RL or an assistant when you need to go AFK (and setting your status correctly), only pulling if you are the MT (or have been requested to do so by the RL - e.g. a hunter MD) and maintaining a positive attitude towards the fight regardless of the number of times the raid may have wiped. Members agree that not maintaining this conduct throughout the duration of the raid my result in removal from the raid group.
Loot Allocation
< Twilight > uses the EP/GP (Effort Points/Gear Points) system to fairly distribute loot between its members, for information specifically regarding who should get loot and when see the Loot Priority guide.
End Times
If the RL wishes to extend the raid time beyond the scheduled finish time they must complete a ready-check to confirm who wishes to continue. If enough players wish to continue (and there are substitutes available for those that don’t) then the raid may continue, at which time the RL should state in raid chat what the new finish time will be (e.g. “Continuing – we’ll finish at 02:30"). The RL should carefully consider the next bosses which are likely to be killed by allowing the raid to continue and the impact this may have on players that must leave at the advertised end time.
